V0.10 Update. Crafting System, Inventory System. Drop System!!
Hello everyone!
Because the game is still far from being completed we can't stop right?!
So because of that today we bring you a bunch of new stuff along with several medium to major updates.
First, a saving system was added to the game. Before when you died the game would needed to be restarted all over again, was kind of messy right? Well... now you will not need to do that anymore. Now when you are taken out, you will respawn in the previous checkpoint you accessed to, along with all the enemies and all the interactable objects. NOW THIS IS STARTING TO FELL LIKE A COMPLETE GAME(Still far, but you get me hehehe)
Then, an Inventory System along with its UI counterpart were added to the game. The idea behind this is that for all the materials you gather during your playthrough you will get a notification in the UI about the item you just acquired. This is so the player get crystal clear data about what he just got, so he can use it at the tent were he will get access to the crafting system so he can forge the upgrade he wants based on what playstyle he wants to go.
Also a new Parallex background was added to the game. I know we already had one, but honestly it was just a test so we could figure out what exactly the game needed so it could look great, and we believe that the current one is pretty close to what the game needs. So that is a thumbs up for the team. Nice!!
Finally, a new Crafting System Design. The previous one was still a test about how it was going to behave and what was supposed to have. Now that Project Smash is more solid it is known what the player can and will have the opportunity to upgrade. And as always.... the choice will always be the player's.
Besides these previous major updates there were a bunch of minor updates and several bugs Project Smash needed to have fixed. If you are curious about that here is a list about it.
- Menus Bug Fix. (Now all the menus are set to follow a standard set of rules so you do not have any problems navigating between them)
- UI Update. The Game UI was updated because we though that it still didn't had what Project Smash needed to show.
- Some Bug fixes regarding the input system. Finally we were able to have an elegant, yet quite simple Flow Chart from the Inputs to the Players mechanic that we are really proud of those. Also, it makes so much easier to debug, and upgrade in the future this part.
- Some NPCs are in the game for test the design and to use those as indicators of what the player needs to know and do.
- A Blockage was added to the Game so the player must use the Subweapon he will acquire in the game(Ups...) so he can destroy it and pass through it
Step by step Project Smash is taking shape in becoming and awesome game, don't you think. Still is far from being completed, but nonetheless it will be finished.
